A Blaine massage therapist has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct after authorities say he engaged in nonconsensual sexual activity with one of his clients.
According to the criminal complaint, Junting He, 56, was working at a massage salon at Northtown Mall Friday when a woman purchased an hour-long massage from the salon.
The woman told authorities that she undressed for the massage and was told to lie on her back.
He then touched the woman in other areas of the body, and put his fingers where they didn't belong.
"I was in shock," the victim said. "I couldn't believe that just happened to me."
The Anoka County woman ended the massage. She said He angrily left the room and gave her a business card with Chinese writing on it.
The salon manager, Julia Wong, told authorities she recognized He’s handwriting on the business card and confirmed He was the only male masseuse working at the salon Friday. Wong confirmed He was a licensed therapist, had worked there for five years with no complaints and insists He's innocent.
The woman contacted police and later received a sexual assault examination at a hospital.
He is currently held on $100,000 bail with no conditions, meaning, if He pays it, he can be released from custody and Wong says his job is waiting for him. That upsets the victim even more.
"I don't want somebody to go in there and have a massage and have this happen," the victim said. "I'm sure it's happened before and people just don't want to report it."
The judge also said if He paid a lower bail of $30,000, he could be released with conditions. One of them is he could continue providing massages but only if he's supervised.
He has a court hearing scheduled for March 15.
