Toronto (416) has jacked up the cost of a bodyrub license
IMHO, these places are at risk of not paying

I heard that this was an option shortly after the Star newspaper article, now the option is a reality.

From a business standpoint the rate has increased from approx $30/day to $60/day, which would translate into roughly a 1 hour session. Given that most of these places are open 12+ hours a day and have a minimum of 2 rooms would make it a less than 5% hit on the bottom line. The problem is getting that one extra customer in each day to offset the cash flow.

Then there is the economics of opportunity cost lost if the extra $10K was invested at a conservative 3% per annum would set you back another $300 which would translate into eight 30 minute sessions.

Effectively if you pass the cost onto the consumer by raising the door fee by $5/30 min and $10/hour this would translate into a recovery after less than six 30 min sessions per day which in essence is a large amount of the volume coming in and the price increase could drastically reduce the volume.

Also it would be considered an expense for tax purposes as well. From what I have heard there is a large margin on the bottom line that the 5% mentioned above can be absorbed easily.

It will be interesting to see what some of the MP you listed will do given the increased fees. I hope that some of the ones listed above don't go but then again I wish that some of the ones listed get a total makeover from a new owner.

I might've gotten a 9% in math back in high school but last time I checked, an increase from $9236 to $9245 is $11. I don't see an increase to $20,000.

Anyway, I got as far as the "Propose" part from Page One before I started getting dizzy and lost my concentration. Can anyone summarize in simple language what that article is about. I understood the part about re-hiring the 2 body-rub officers and adding another 6 holistic officers (like they need another 6!!! I mean, when our holistic place got raided the second time, my friend who was there told me that there were like 50 LE people there!! So now, there's going to be 56 to bust a place?) I didn't really understand anything else in the article.

To clarify the incremental increase of $9,245 is on top of the $10K+, sorry I do not have the exact number with me, that is already being paid per year. That adds up to $20K approx.

I talked with a owner this week and we talked for a short period of time before my session and he is not to happy with it.

25 Body Rub Parlours and over 300 Holistic, yet Body Rub pays close to $20,000 and Holistic $200 and change. This is total BS to me. Also heard a rumour that City Council wants Body Rub to close at 9:00 p.m., can't find any Documentation on that one.
