hi all

just wondering if anyone could recommend some good reflex books. have been a reflexologist for 3 years, but would like to read up on some different technicques or routines or linking or anything! my routine is the same, and would like to read up on about different things, and also update myself really.

anyone know of any good books? (ie present to me from husband for xmas - he doesnt know it yet tho!)

Wow, good question Sarah! Where to start? Well, have you read anything by Renée Tanner, Beryl Crane, Andrew James, Inge Dougans, Jan Williamson, Michael and Louise Keet, Laura Norman or the great Eunice Ingham herself? Renée is one of the 'older' reflexologists, without wishing to sound disrespectful, and a very wise and special lady. I think her main book is called Step By Step Reflexology (she also wrote one on reading the feet). Beryl Crane has a sort of definitive practitioner's manual which is very dense and meaty, a marvellous source of information and very thoroughly written. I read Andrew James' Hands On Reflexology while I was training and it was super, although you might look at it now and think 'Oh well, I know most of that'. Inge Dougans is very interesting - she goes into meridian theory and her most recent book draws parallels with reflexology, the meridians and Chinese medicine - fascinating. Jan Williamson's book on Precision Reflexology gives you a good flavour of what that's all about, as does Lynn Booth's VRT book (on VRT, not Precision Reflex). I trained with Mike and Louise, and their Hand Reflexology book is a great aid and useful for giving clients 'homework'. Laura Norman's blue book whose name I don't remember is a lovely, lovely book on reflexology and has loads of ideas on opening and closing moves that you might not have thought of. As for Eunice Ingham, her books are real classics and worth a look. I know there are lots and lots more books, but these are some I've come across and enjoyed to date. I look forward to seeing other suggestions here, as there are loads I'd like to have a look at.

I've eavesdropped on this topic as I also find it interesting to read around the complementary therapies. The long list provided by "At One" will be of value to me - thank you!

I have training in aromatherapy massage and reflexology; both VTCT Level 3 qualifications, and now I wish to learn more, especially re aromatherapy as it is the treatment that best relaxes me whist treating clients!

ooooh thanks - what a list! im off to search the net now to see if i can find any of them. love the list and the explanations of them, im thinking the Beryl Crane one and of course Eunice! how could i have not thot of that one!
