breast reduction

I have a new client that has had a Breast reduction. In her left shoulder,pecs, teres minor and major and subscap area she is very sore. She had this reduction 3 years ago. The right side is fine.
I am wondering if anyone else has had a client with anything similar with a reduction. I am leaning more towards since she is right handed she has kept the muscles on the right side moving more frequent than the left side. Causing the left side to stiffen more from just lack of use.
Are is it possible that there is just more scar tissue on that one side.
Or is the muscles just damaged from the surgery.
If anyone has had a client with a situation like this ...what did you do for them? I tried TP work but it was to much for her.

is there any anterior muscle issues on the left side that may be causing the posterior muscles to overcompensate?

When scrubbing on a reduction we do not involve the muscle at all.
It is all soft tissue-fat/skin. Retraction is all done by hand and sponges.
I would be inclined to consider other muscle groups which may now be compensating.
Also, I would address all of the postural back muscle groups as they are no longer holding up so much a load....but also have not been released.

Is she left handed? Just about every person who has breasts has noticed that one breast is not quite as large as the other. This is normal. It's part of the grand design. Typically, the breast on the side of the dominant arm will, to varying degrees, be smaller than the other. It's made that way to allow for greater freedom of movement during activities of everyday life.
Sometimes when changes are made to the size of a woman's breasts, the surgeon makes an attempt to achieve symetry, and thus changes the origional design.
Also, if the change in size was a drastic one, she may be carrying herself differently. Has she changed her style of dress? Does she carry her purse differently? Is she using her shoulders more, or less, to shield attention from her chest?
We're not psychologists, but we're often asked to address pain that stems from our behaviors. When a change is made to the physical form, it brings with it new physical challenges.
