Broken arm, Cast, now scar tissue

My sister (57 yrs old) slipped on ice, broke her arm/wrist, and was in a cast for months. The problem now is no ROM. She's been going to physical therapy, but isn't happy with the progress. She says that scar tissue is preventing any movement (I guess she's quoting the physical therapist). Which modalities do you experienced therapists recommend? Trigger point? Myofascial release? Anything she can do herself? Thanks from San Antonio! (She lives in Colorado Springs)

I would start with some Myofacial work, massaging all the flexors and exstensors and start strengthening exercises. It will take time for it to come back, as being in the cast has weakened it from not being used. One thing that may sound some what unconventional however is Reiki. I had worked on a client who broke his tib/fib and was in the cast at the time that I saw him. As I was working on him the Reiki just started pouring out, (as it will at times). The next time I saw him he said he felt a lot better. Not saying that is what she needs, but hey, anything is worth a try at least once. Keep us up to date as to what she does and the results. I would recommend some MFR work as well. It never ceases to amaze me how MFR can increase the client's ROM.
