Business Liability Insurance

I need some names of companies that offer Liability Insurance for Massage Therapist.  Has anyone else tried to get insurance?  It is not required in my state, but my spouse says it is a must.  Please help! :-/

Well my Liability insurance is through the AMTA, though you can also get it through the AMBP or the IMA.There may even be other organizations which offer it.

If you're going to work on your own and not be covered by another policy (like at a spa that would have coverage for you), yes, your wife is right.   It's easy enough. It comes with most professional association memberships, listed earlier.  Joe E.

Business Liability Insurance

Business Liability and Professional Liability are two different things. It is correct that you will get Professional Liability from an association you will join. But if you are going to start your own business it is a good idea to have business liability also. If you are going to have your business based out of your home either Outcall or your own studio I know State Farm has a great policy for very little money. Mine is only $175.00 per year for $10,000 in business equipment, etc. and $1,000,000 liability.Send me a note if you would like more [email protected]

For liability insurance, my school deals with a certain company and they give the graduates or students still attending school a discounted rate.  You might want to check the school you attended to see if they can make arrangements for you.  If not then I guess the companies that were referred in the above emails might help.

If you go to massagemag.com (the Website for Massage Magazine) they have insurance throught there.  I think it is $129.  professional liability and general liability.  (malpractice and "slip and fall").  The state farm policy does sound like a good deal, too.also, with State Farm, if you also insure your car or your house or something else, you usually get a "multi-line discount" which pretty much means that you get a good deal because having several policies earns you discounts. (my best friend used to be a StateFarm agent).

Business Liability Insurance

I currently have Professional liability insurance through AMTA. But I do know a longtime professional bodyworker who in his 20 years of doing Hellerwork, never once had liability insurance. He said he didn't need it. He built his business by referrals and thus ended up with people that are more unlikely to sue due to transference issues. So I know it can be done, but I'm not there right now.
