I have my own private practice in Arizona.  Is anyone else slow right now.  I have a good size regular cliental and I haven't even heard from these people.  We do have spring break going on for a lot of people here  Maybe that's it.  Any suggestions to bring them back in?

Sandyolmt,Things are a bit slow now for me too.The only thing I can think of is contact your clients using a postcard or greeting card and let them know you were thinking of them, or perhaps do a newsletter/flyer with a coupon for either $5 off their next appointment or perhaps some "extra service" they can only get for a limited time as a little perk for coming in when things are slow!Either way I'd make it as bright and cheery... as spring-like as possible.

I send out postcards at least once a quarter with our latest special.  Even if people aren't interested in the special, you'd be surprised at how many respond whom you haven't heard from in a while.

Maestra is right, making contact with your existing client base is your best bet.  Also, consider taking some of this free time to volunteer your services to special events.  It's another way to get your name out there (to new customers) as well.  Usually, when we are busy, we tend not to market ourselves.  I believe that if you market yourself when you are busy, the slower times will come less frequently.  You might offer your existing clients some incentive to recommend a friend.  I'm just thinking out loud but good luck and keep us posted.  Joe E.

Sandy,I just had a rockin March (still going, actually) because I planned & am doing the "give to get" strategy. I figured March was good for it in Az because of the massive spring break lull. I have already done 10 more massages than last month! (and my books still have a little room!)I got the idea for the promotion from the BodyworkBiz courses. Try it, especially in a dull moment. It takes very little planning, but be prepared to follow through!!! I didn't even pass out my own coupons! I sent out 650 (in 13 tablets of 50) to clients that work at various places (like Banner Desert Samaritan, Rancho Solano Private Schools, etc). The responses are great. I needed to get a bunch of new people in the door, and like they all say, over 90% have taken the upgrade or purchased a gift cert or rebooked, making it far worth our while.Now,... what to do for April! ha.Good luck to you.Look me up. Jill,      That is a great idea.  I am already sending out postcards to past and present clients.   I usually do at least 4 times a year.  I am also sending out brochures to everyone I know to help sell spa parties.  How do you know Corey?  Thanks for the help and would love to talk further.  Sandy

Jill,I have thought of doing the free massage with option to upgrade as well.  Did you do a free half hour with option to upgrade for $20 more?  If you don't mind, what did you say on yours?  Should I just used my gift certificates I have now?  questions, questions ???                                                      Thanks, Jillian

Hey Jillian!  Thanks for taking the time to reply, I read your other post too.  This is a great idea, I don't really know what you mean by tableting?  Could I use the my blank business card stock, there is 10 to a sheet.....would that be a good coupon size?  I have used them to offer $10 off to my clients for a referals.  And I am just wondering if I use my clients to distribute some, should I offer them the deal too?  What did you do? I offered one gal a series of upgrades or additional services, etc depending on how many coupons were upgraded when they made their appointments. She was the strongest networking source of the whole sha-bang. Maybe make it a contest?Jill/Sagetherapist

Yes. For my practice, that is the difference between the cost of a half hour vs the full hour. Read up on the whole picture though. Sign-up for the free e:newsletter from BodyworkBiz.com... it will explain the whole strategy behind "give to get", but remember, it only works if you have the time. And I found that you have to be willing to do the generous part wholeheartedly... some will only take you up on the free half hour.  Anyway, I followed up my March Madness (give to get) with the Massage Advocate idea (again from the bodyworkbiz courses:  260 Extremely Practical Ways to Fill Your Practice).Jill/Sagetherapist
