If you’re going for a massage or whatever, you should shower and have fresh clothes before you go. As per city of Toronto mandate, these businesses are not allowed to open their shower facilities to clients. Also, everyone must wear face masks.

I read the Toronto notice, via the link in the OP's post in this thread, that refers to the Provincial emergency order stating that Holistic spas in Toronto must close their showers, but Body Rubs can still leave them open for clients to use before their sessions.

I also have to assume that the showers that the attendants use at Holistics must be closed, and am hoping that it does not imply the same thing for the common shower areas outside the massage rooms that attendants in Body Rubs may use after sessions, if they don't immediately shower in the room.

Am I reading this wrong?

This is a further reason for me to avoid Holistics until the Covid threat is over.

but you are reading it wrong. It says all spas must close their shores and that includes body rub joints

interesting - will see how this translates into practice
Because pretty much impossible to operate full in body rubs without a shower

but then again no one wearing masks at the spa I frequent and that was already a rule

furthermore once inside the room it’s all about what goes on between two consenting adults

still interesting- I’m scheduled with my regular tomorrow and will see how it goes

Thanks for clarifying, admittedly I found the notice confusing. If it's true for BRs I would sit it out. I always stay away from SLs and holistics, so that won't change for me.

This of course operates under the assumption that no sexual services are being offered at a Holistic establishment. Hence the shower ordinance is basically moot.

This ban is based on the Ontario State of Emergency policy, that bans all showers at all spas. Toronto only said they will not enforce the ban at Rub & Tugs.

I imagine each municipality will have to decide whether or not to enforce the shower ban at Holistics and/or Rub & Tugs,

Hopefully this ban will be lifted when the State of Emergency expires on July 15, if it is not extended at that time.

Of course this doesn't mean that all Holistics will conform with the ban, and perhaps they will just hope they can get away with keeping their shower(s) open.

...so shower in barhroom - exempt... shower in same room- exempt... shower where towels are exempt...

The spa rooms that I frequent have a shower but do NOT provide access to equipment storage or a bathroom...
