A Calhoun massage business has been raided by authorities as part of a human trafficking investigation, and the owner charged with prostitution.
According to Calhoun Police Department reports:
On Friday, authorities executed a search warrant at Curing Massage, 514 S. Wall St., following a months-long investigation in collaboration the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Human Exploitation and Trafficking Unit.
According to CPD, "substantial evidence" obtained during the investigation led to the warrant, as the department works to combat human trafficking and protect "vulnerable individuals" in the community.
"We are dedicated to ensuring that Calhoun remains a safe place for everyone," CPD Chief Tony Pyle said. "This investigation highlights the importance of collaboration between local law enforcement and state agencies to address such serious crimes."
Sunday morning it was announced that warrants had been secured against Curing Massage Parlor, 54-year-old Siqi Li, who is charged with keeping a place of prostitution, and two counts of massage without a license.
CPD says all other individuals inside the business are being treated as victims in the case, with the department "committed to ensuring their well-being and connecting them with any necessary resources."
