In response to market demand, Cambrian College announced Thursday offering five new programs, starting next September.
The new programs include massage therapy; addictions and mental health; occupational therapist assistant and physiotherapist assistant; computer programming; and supply chain management.
“Our community told us there was a need for these programs, and we responded,” Dr. Paula Gouveia, Cambrian College’s VP, academic, says. “Our students have also told us these are programs of interest for them, and what they would like to study.”
Massage therapy, OT and PT assistant, and computer programming are being offered as diploma programs. Addictions and mental health, and supply chain management will be graduate certificates. They can be completed in two to three semesters and are designed for students who have already graduated from college or university.
Since 2018, Cambrian has introduced 14 new programs, half of which are graduate certificates.
“They allow people with prior post-secondary experience to come back to college,” Gouveia adds. “We’ll combine the theory-focused education they received before with practical hands-on experience and a placement in industry they can use to transform into careers.”
Applications for the new programs are now open. For more information, visit
