can anyone help?

i went and had a massage done 2 weeks ago and my lady was rubbing some cream on my feet and she then did some reflexology on me. she said that only one set of my ovaries are working!! left foot - right ovaries!
i asked her how she could tell and she said it was hard to explain but there was only 'movement, gurggling' from left foot!
im 23 and i have been off the pill for a year it took me six months to fall pregnant and i misscarried at 12 weeks. i have been trying to get pregnant again for the last 3 months. my massage lady knows that we are trying as we know each other quite well. i have never worried about this type of thing before but am now worried that its going to takes ages to get preganant!!

please help?

Well as a Reflexologist I can't understand how she could give you a medical diagnosis like that. It is against the code of ethics of the association I belong to (the AoR) and also as far asI know there would be no indication on the feet that an ovary isn't working. Yes a Reflexologist may detect an imbalance, but to go as far as saying that something 'isn't working' is very irresponsible in my opnion.

Do you know if you are ovulating? If you do ovulate every month then there would be no cause for concern. You can find this out by either charting (taking your temperature every morning and looking for other fertility signs) and/or asking your GP for blood tests, although they are unlikely to agree to these until you have been trying to conceive for some time.

I'm sorry that this Reflexologist worried you, but please try not to take the comments as gospel. I often find the one ovary point is more active or painful than the other, but I see this as either an imbalance or just that one ovary is working harder than the other - especially around ovulation time.

Hi Bubbles,

I would agree with Sarah completely.

Also, if it was your left foot then that relates to your left ovary. Given that mistake, I would question everything else she mentioned.
