The street you want is Tongren Lu. I suggest you start at Malone's, it is down from the strip of bars toward Beijing Road. The band is good and starts at 9:30pm... sit in the middle toward the back and there are plenty of freelancers there. If you are not lucky, then about 11-12 head down to the row of bars, the action does not start until about 11 there.. and go to Manhattan's. All freelancers there, and nobody works at the bar, just asking you to buy bar drinks.. you are paying the normal price for all drinks.
Cost depends on how good your negotiation skill are.

The name of the two bars with FL on Tongren Lu is Manhattan and Judy's. Manhattan gets the better girls. Both bars have groups of filipinas recruited by "sponsors" who are then paid back by the girls. Not often to have 5-10 filipinas living under one roof. Manhattan goes through waves where they get different girls...typically the Chinese are older (too old to work in KTVs). The flipinas are 80% mothers and some are even married. There are a lot of Vietnamese there right now. You will see some Thai there and an occassional Russian. 80% of the girls will quote 1,000 rmb when asked.

Went to Xantandi last nite quite nice , but does not seem like a good place for a Monger ! Very ice though !Was approach by older ladie with Biz card that said she could send young honey to Hotel for 400 - 500 RMB.
Oh yeaah there was and attractive Ladyboy sitting at massageplanete that was giving male passebys the eye, but this is not my cup of tea !

with about 10 bars lined up next to each other. It's quite famous as FL hangouts. I was there a couple of years ago and will be back in Shanghai in 2 weeks.
