I was with a pregnant friend today and I started rubbing her belly. My other friend yells "stop that might cause her to miscarry if you massage her uterus". I was doing it pretty roughly.
Me and my pregnant friend have never heard this.

I could find nothing at all online about it.
Is it true?
 
No. For many women it's actually very comforting.

Your friend just sounds overprotective.
