can i fix my newbie wordpress boo-boo?!?

ok so i am a complete newb when it comes to blogging with wordpress.

i do have one blog that i set up, and paid the $25 or whatever for the .com domain name - the theme is ok for what i want to do with it - photos and text.

i did the same for a photoblog i want to set up - bought the domain name within wordpress and then went looking for a nice clean simple theme. trouble is, even though i've found one, i can't see how to install or import it or whatever. am i wrong in thinking i can do this??! the photoblogging themes i can find on the 'browse themes' are pretty ugly. i don't want any text really, just the images.

please help! and try not to laugh at my incompetence!! ;-)
oh - ok well looking at the paypal receipt, i paid $5 for the domain name, $12 domain mapping from ----------.wordpress.com to --------------.com, and $8 for private registration. i'm looking at the dashboard, have been until i think i can levitate my laptop, lol.... i still can't find where to instal a theme that isn't one of the ones i can 'browse'. i hope this is making sense, it isn't making much sense to me!!!

um, that;s the problem though - in appearance > themes i don't see any way of uploading or importing the theme that i've downloaded and have sitting on my desktop?

i'm so sorry if i'm really dumb here - i've clicked on everything and i just don't see where that option is :-\

First off, $25 is too much to pay for a domain that is brand new. Go to namecheap.com, register and buy from there in future. Usually $10 or less

Installing themes from wordpress is easy really. Just login to the admin panel, go to themes and click install theme.
It should work instantly.

There should be a drop down box under appearance in the left column. Look in there and there should be a link named themes. Click that and it will open up all the themes you have uploaded. Select the one you want and that's it.
The very easiest way to install a new theme is do the above and then click [ADD NEW] This will bring up a load of themes you can install. dead easy really.
