can pregnant woman get massages?

i've heard from a friends mom that a lot of places won't give a pregnant woman massages because there's certain pressure points that can cause labor. i reeeally wanna get a massage haha but as silly as it sounds i don't wanna go into labor in the middle of some random place. i'm about to be 31 weeks.. so iunno if that just applies to woman who are father along, or what.

You absolutely can get a massage when you are pregnant! I don't know about the pressure points, but I looked into it when I was nearing 30 weeks pregnant and it was no problem. They just make you sit in a massage chair, or lie on your side so that you're not putting your weight on the baby!

I would call a few places and get their opinion, but it should be fine!
(and do it! A massage at 31 weeks sounds heavenly!)

Yes, you can. You just have to make sure your massage therapist does not rub sensitive places.

I have had a massage. Find a massage therapist that is pregnancy certified.

yes you can! most places offer some sort of pregnancy massage, each place may be different though on there regulations and rules, but most place i have been to offer something for pregnant woman, never hurts to call and ask

Your friend's mom is wrong. There are a lot of spas and massage places that offer prenatal massages. In fact, a lot of doctors even recommend it because it'll help relax you (which is good for the baby too). Just call the spa that you want to go to and ask if they offer prenatal massages - most places do. I gave a prenatal massage certificate to one of my administrators and she loved it and wouldn't stop raving about it. Have a fun, relaxing time!
