Can you get any peace at night in Patong?

I havent been before so im just wondering if its possible to sometimes have a quiet beer at the bar and chill out for a bit? Dont get me wrong I love the women but I dare say they'll be a few nights where i'd like to chill for a bit. Can you do that or do girls come up to you every 5 minutes?

Just go to a bar or restaraunt where either there are no bg's (Molly Malones or the other one. 1 was closed in May, but cant remember which!) or to a bar where the 'pressure isn't that high, eg Rio.

Or you can just sit there looking unhappy and no bg will approach! Or say "Im down to my last 300 baht" on walking up to the bar, and all you would be expected is to play connect 4 for awhile

theres a copule of great quiet bars. there 2 on rat-u-thit(thats the 2nd road from the beach), i think one is called irish bar and the other is sonny's(thats my thai friend). both have girls there but its nice and quiet ,relaxing, not like the bangla bars. also geir's bar, the darkside, on the other end of patong beach is pretty quiet, relaxing and theres 3 other bars just like that in the same area

also, go to wet willy's on nanai rd, thats where me and a few bm's stay. has a pool and small bar, pretty quiet, nice conversations

those other bars, molly malones and aussie bar, they dont have bg's, but they are still very loud. sometimes, not many nights, but sometimes, i like to go have a nice quiet few drinks

A VERY quiet place is the Novatel, on the far north side of Patong Beach. It has a short winding road that leads up from the beach road, to the Hotel, which is on the hill overlooking Patong.

Off of the Novotel Lobby is a fairly big bar, which has been pretty much dead every time I visited. I think happy hour is from 8pm to 9pm. (or is it 7pm to 8pm ??).

The night view of Patong Beach is very good from the lobby/bar.

Its also very very quiet (and a good place to bring a regular TG friend if you just want to chat and quietly talk).
