Can't seem to make the call

A couple days ago my husband and I were at lunch when we were approched by a lady from our bank. She told me that one of her coworkers was talking about giving me a call. I thanked her for the information but now I can't seem to make myself pick up the phone and call her coworker and she has not contacted me.

I don't know why, but I feel as though I would be being pushie if I contacted her. This isn't the first time that this has happened and I am sure it will happen again. What would you or do you do in this situation?

I don't really think you'd have anything to lose-
maybe call her and ask for her mailing address, so you can put her on your mailing list? Or just call to see if she has any questions about you or your business?

I would not make contact in this situation. Its second hand info. The bank lady may have been just making conversation. Who knows. When you see the banker again I might say something like "oh, heres my card if you want to pass it on to so and so. I don't have an issue with calling people or e mailing info when they themselves have asked for it, but I would not do it on this one.

I was in a similar situation recently at home depot.
I saw one of my father's managers, who knows about my private practice, and she said that one of her co-workers at the customer service desk was asking her about my services, and saying she needed to get in touch with me. I asked her which one, she pointed and I went over to her and introduced myself.
She looked at me like I had two heads. :shock: She had no idea who I was, or why I was talking to her! Then it clicked, and she said that she was talking to her a while ago about it. I gave her my card and told her to give me a call when she was avaliable.
I kinda felt like an a** but hey, you gotta get your name out somehow right? I ended up giving out 3 cards to her, and 2 other gals behind the counter. Created a buzz if nothing else.

I don't call or pass out cards based on secondhand info myself. Clients usually have to call me.

I have a client who is dead set on telling other people they "must" see me (it doesn't matter what the other person feels).

I advise against calling on second-hand info, because there are enough times that a conversation can become twisted into something it was not, and the "call-ee" was just trying to be polite ("...sure I'll call.") to the person who was suggesting our services in the first place.

I also would not make the call. Who knows how the banker is interpreting what her friend said? It may have been something like "Yeah! I should check her out." I think in person it might be more okay to approach someone (if the person who referred is nearby)...but the phone call NO. Maybe it's just because I hate unsolicited phone calls.

I HATE unsolicited phone calls. I don't care who you are. (aside from potential client) Don't call me.
