Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
A friend of mine took a weekend workshop with Rossiter. I also watched one of his videos. Strange stuff - fascial work he says. He teaches it to workers in factories and they do it on one another. The median nerve and the rest of the brachial plexus can get irritated between scalenes anterior and medius; and get compressed deep to the clavicle, and deep to pec minor. Work and stretch pec minor, pec major and the scalenes. The median - all alone now- passes through the belly of pronator teres, where it can also get compressed. As stated, the wrist and hand flexors need to be worked thoroughly. In addition, Most trigger points in the flexors refer pain into hand and wrist. The tendons of the flexors can be gently frictioned (caution- median nerve) just proximal to the carpal tunnel. Chronic "inflammation" in their tendon sheaths (which is what you friction), at this site, is a major cause of true carpal tunnel syndrome. No matter where the compression occurs its smart to work all possible locations. A phenomenon called double crush syndrome is often present. This means - when a nerve gets compressed in one place, that same nerve is likely to develop a compression at another site. Some doctors believe one must have a double crush in order to expeirence nerve symptoms
