We all need to relax sometimes, even our pups. The internet can’t stop laughing at the Cattle Dog mix, who was really loving the neck massage she got on a recent self care day. She was living it up! You could tell by the totally serene look on the dog’s face as all her little knots were worked out.
You know we’ve never thought about it, but dogs probably do get stressed. They do all that running around — oh, and the zoomies! Just think about how sore their muscles get from zipping around and around.
That’s why it totally makes sense that the dog would enjoy the neck massage machine her human had. The Cattle Dog and German Shepherd mix must’ve had a huge knot in her neck because she was looking pretty darn zen as the machine went to work.

“She understood instantly,” the video’s text overlay states. We guess “ahhhh” is the same word in every language, including dog. “It’s not all fun and games… sometimes it’s self care,” the video’s caption jokes.
Commenters were totally cracking up. “Living her best life!!!” one person exclaimed. “She's got a little smile,” someone else pointed out. “She says ‘Ok. You’re off duty now,’” teased another person. “My dog loves my Theragun. He always begs for a turn,” shared one commenter.
How to Help Your Dog Relax
If you don’t have the same technology as this pup does, have no fear. There are lots of other ways to help your pup relax naturally and without fancy gadgets.
Something that always helps is taking your dog on a good long walk. Any physical exercise will tire your dog out, which will help keep them calm when you go home and could even help them sleep. This is particularly good if your dog has separation anxiety.
Another tip is to keep your dog’s schedule the same. Dogs really thrive on consistency. They like to know that the same thing is going to happen to them every single day. It actually stresses them out when they don’t have a schedule. So make sure to feed them, walk them, and put them to bed at the same times.
Dogs also tend to get anxious during the day when their humans are at work. It can often lead to separation anxiety, which can lead to bad behavior. White noise or music can soothe dogs — some people will even play the radio. It gives your pup some company, which they seriously need to keep them from feeling lonely.
Your dog picks up on your feelings more than you might think, so if you stay chill, they’ll be chill. It can be as simple as that.
