Chair massage at blood drive??

I hope I'm in the right forum area posting here. My question seems like it could fit in more than one place:


What do you think of offering chair massage at a blood drive?

I'm wondering on the possible contraindications of this. Would it be safe to receive at all in that situation? What type of intake questions would be important to be sure to ask?

Note: The event in question is being held at a masonic lodge and many of the donators may be elderly.

Thanks for any advice. They don't cover blood drives in the pathology books!

If you are planning on massaging after they give blood..I wouldn't do it.
I give blood twice a year and I am always dizzy afterwards and have seen quite a few others get dizzy as well.

I donate about 4 times per year and think it'd be great to get a CM before going in. Esp for those with slightly elevated BP it be great.

It'd also be great for the vampires, I suppose they will get a break at some point. Some people will get turned away, they would benefit, maybe keep them from going to get their gun.

As stated above... I would definitely make sure to only do it before they give... afterwards, you might have a problem on your hands!!! I know there is always a wait to get your information, and then more waiting until it is your time to actually donate... It is definitely a great idea!!! Especially to calm the nerves of first timers!!!

I give blood quite often and I am STILL scared to death before lol. I saw that needle one time and my god is it HUGE! (i hate needles)

I do think its a good idea for before they donate.
