Well, first of all, though I have a chair, I can't really say I enjoyed doing a lot of chair massage. I've done some at the salon I used to work for, but they usually have the hair stylist do that since they are allowed to, by Wisconsin state law they can "massage above the waist."I would usually only get assigned a chair massage client if the stylist was busy. But, despite that here goes...When I had finished the chair massage I would ask, "So, how do you feel?" My client would then usually say, "That was great." Or something to that effect. At which point I would usually say to them, "If you think that was good, you should see me do a massage on my table! I feel that's where I do my best work. I think you'd really enjoy it, and I'd be able to get better access to (name area of concern) in that position. The chair is great for a quick treatment, but there are some areas where the chair is less than ideal. (For instance, it doesn't usually let us work on QL and the low back muscles properly.) Massage they say has a cummulative affect, the more you get, the better you feel. Would you like to try a table massage for that (name area of concern again)? When would you like to schedule your next appointment so we can do that? Would you like to schedule a half hour or an hour?"Does that sound ok to you Mick?
