I work in a clinic and I usually have several consecutive clients. Recently, I came upon a new problem. I gave each client my fullest attention, and after my shift was over, I straightened everything up for the next MT. When I sat down to chart their progress, I completely blanked. There were no distinguishing factors between these clients. They all had similar jobs and similar problems. I wracked my brains to remember anything about them, and double-checked the names to make sure I wasn't documenting one client's progress on another's chart. Has this happened to you?

I've had the same problem at the clinic where I work part time. I'm used to having at least 30 minutes between clients and my short term memory is non-existent to begin with, so when I have even just 2 in a row I have problems. Recently I finished writing soaps on one persons chart only to realize I had the right chart but had written all the findings for the client I had after him. Luckily for me, there was only one area where they differed so I was able to simply put a line through the info that wasn't relevant, but still :undecided:

I think the post-it note trick is good. It'd let you make a note of one or two major things for later to jog your memory as TouchofGrace said. But for me, I am also having issues (aches & pains) with having the same number of clients in one night as I'm used to having in one week, so I'm looking for a part time non-massage job so I can keep my private practice and not have to worry about that sort of thing so much.

I don't wish this problem on others, but it eases my mind to know that I'm not alone. I have the chart with me at all times, but with mere minutes between clients (sometimes fifteen, sometimes five), I need to chart on-the-go. The post-it idea is good, so that I can transcribe my scribbles into legible documentation while the information is still relatively fresh in my mind. Thank you for your suggestions.
