Chase Bank is getting rid of free checking and will introduce new fees help !!!?

I just got the mail and called a chase service rep and they told me that all free checking accounts will be converted to total checking accounts, Which will soon include new Monthly fees of 10 dollars starting February 2011. If you don't meet certain requirements, you have to pay the 10 dollar monthly fee

. I was like WTF !!!!! and I been a wamu member with free checking account holder with
(NO Monthly FEES) since 2006 and stayed with them when they switched to Chase. Since I'm a college student , self employed, and mostly broke sometimes, they are forcing me to have to cancel my account even after years with them which i was very satisfied with their service.

what should I do ? change to another bank that has free checking with (no monthly fees) ?
or
online bank with free checking (no monthly fees)?

this account type with the lowest fees will now be charged a 10 dollar monthly fee if

If i don't make a direct deposit of 500 dollars or more every month
If I dont maintain a minimum balance of 1500 dollars or more

they are trying to control the way i spend and save my money WTF !! I hate them now

anyone know of a good alternative from chase bank ?
