chest cold

I've a chest cold, at least, that is what I think I have. Nose and sinus are pretty clear,unobstructed. Coughing a fair amount, I do bring up some stuff, on occasion.

All this coughing has occasionally given me a headache, which goes away if I get out my theracane and work the trap/rhomboids area. I find that sipping water helps abate the coughing...but interestingly...when I was stomping around the junk yard yesterday I didn't cough at all. Same with working in the garage, replacing the alternator. Starting to wonder if our air is too dry.

Do you have a whole house humidifier? If not, I would use one at least in your room while you sleep and keep it in the room you are in most of the time during the day. Drinking plenty of liquids will help too. I've heard also that taking REAL raw honey can help as well. Something about it helping to clear out mucus and specifically having a benefit to the lungs. I get my honey from the health food store, but I know that Dr. Mercola's site sells some good stuff there as well. Good luck! Hope you are feeling better soon.

RE humidifier...I sleep using a CPAP and I did turn up the humidifier one notch last night, see if that helps. Will plan the menu around boiling/steaming stuff for the next few days.

Taking honey....you mean take a spoonful like that medicine crap mom always tried to make me take as a kid? that sounds good...someone suggested tea with honey over on FB, got that going now too.

Zicam..have not tried that, but have seen it on TV. Next time I venture out, I'll look for it.

They started as just the zinc nasal spray/sticks and have done an amazing job of growing their product line for all manner of cold/flu/sinus maladies. And, it works! Felt a cold coming on three days ago and a steady dose of their tabs and sinus spray has kept me functioning and stopped it from getting any worse.

Make sure you get the real raw honey. Not the see thru amber stuff you get at the grocery - all that is is regurgitated corn syrup. Seriously.
