hi mamajen,
We just covered a bit about Chiari last week in Pathology.
I think it's important to know what type of Chiari the client has because there are different degrees of Chiari. There's type 1, 2, 3, and I think also a 4, with 4 being the most severe.
In my notes Chiari is grouped in the Firbromyalgia because Chiari 1 is a type of malformation being discovered in people with FMS. So, I'm wondering if there's a possibility this client might also have that going on, as well?
***With Chiari 1 we were told to *Never extend the neck***
I asked my instructor about more severe cases, as in Chiari 2 and 3 and he said he has only ever experienced one client with Chiari 1 and that we with someone with any more severe form we would not even be working on them.
Not sure if this is anything that might help, but thought I'd share since we just covered this in class, so it jumped out at me.
