I have chronic back pain and sciatica. This is primarily caused by arthritis in the lower back and left hip. I also have M.E./CFS which aggravates the problems.
I have now been booked in to have a steroids epidural, but I am very worried about side effects as I am quite sensitive.
Has anyone had good results after the procedure, or is it one of those things that works for some and not for others?

ESI cannot help lower back pain...

ESI can help for pain relief for your sciatica. There are side effects and complications like infections or dural tear. Dural tears are more often and they are usually not dangerous.

My mom had more than 10 different infiltrations (ESI, TESI, intradiscal infiltration, ganglion infiltration, facet joint infiltrations) and not a single complication.
 
it's just pot luck it might or might not work but don't worry about horror stories they are a load of rubbish!
