Hi,
I stumbled across this site and was hoping that some of you kind people can offer me some advice. I’m about at my wits end with back pain and sciatica and its starting to really bring me down.
About four months ago I twisted and injured my lower back – about a week thereafter I started to suffer with chronic stabbing sciatica in my left hamstring. The pain was unreal and I was finding it hard walk any great distance. Doctors were useless and it was only after a referral to the NHS physio that I started to make some progress. One night about three weeks ago, I was doing my stretches and something must have re-adjusted as the sciatica eased by about 90% and I was so relieved.
But last week I mistakenly did some hovering and later that night I was in so much pain it was untrue. Since then I have been waking up at 4, 5 and 6 in the morning with cramping sciatica again and the base of my back is aching like a swine.
The moves the physio gave me are incredibly painful to do (way more than when I was doing them first time round) but I’m trying to push through them. The thing that is annoying me is that I can’t get decent nights sleep. The pain eases when I’m stood up – which is strange as before, it hurt when I stood and eased when I lay down. It seems to have revered now. I just need to sort something out that will give me some relief of the pain. Tried co-codamol but I don’t want to be relying on them every night. Got an appointment with my physio – but not for another 10 days.
Help please……………………
