One of nine new warning labels cigarette makers will have to use by the fall of 2012. In the most significant change to U.S. cigarette packs in 25 years, the FDA's the new warning labels depict in graphic detail the negative health effects of tobacco use.

I quit a long time ago and I don't think new pictures will make the hardcore smokers quit.

we've had them up here for years....the thing was: when they first came out? Kids were collecting them......

I really don't think they will do a damn thing considering people watch movies like saw, seven, friday the 13th etc where you see much MUCH worse live and in colour...(well, live on film anyways).

Seriously though, my customer said to me while I was having a but whilst building their deck: those things will kill you.

That may be true, but drinking coke may kill me, getting hit by a bus might kill me, cancer from air pollution in the city may kill me, diabetes (runs in the family) may kill me, that big juicy steak he had for dinner may kill him, or any other myriad of other things might kill me/him.

Kind of an amazing fact floating around: obesity is fast approaching cancer as the number one killer (if it hasn't surpassed it already).....

But seriously, how long do you think it will be before they start putting pictures of obese people on Big Mac containers?

The thing with you is from what I have learned over the years is that except for the Butts you seem to avoid all other types of health dangers.

If you could just eliminate the one thing you might just live till 100.

I know I know that it's easier said than done.

Oh hey, 100? lol I doubt I'll hit 70.....too much working in dusty conditions without a mask, spraying cars without a respirator, and all sorts of nasty stuff......Frankly, I wouldn't want to live to 100. Unless of course I could retain an active and able lifestyle. Right now I've got a really bad knee (motorcycle accident when I was 16), at my 4th lumbar the disc is pretty much gone (tried to move an 1800 lb injection molding mold assembly), and various other worn out parts due to a rough line of work. You should here the pistol shots out of my knees when I get up or kneel down lol...Scares the crap outta the cat hehehe....

(time for a short, funny story).

I was working on Yonge st one evening and I was at davenport. I was waiting to cross the street and two little old ladies came up beside me. I'm not sure how we got on the subject, I think I offerred to escort them across when the light turned. One said "thank you so much but we're fine"...I said something like "you two move pretty good for 40 yr olds. They laughed and one said "young man, I'm 87 and she's 94!! HO LEE COW. You move better n me, how about you escort ME across? lol.....

Seriously, if I was in that shape? I'd be ok with living to 100 because honestly? They didn't look a day over 60.
