TUCSON, AZ (Tucson News Now) -
A Tucson police employee who was fired as a result of a massage parlor investigation earlier this year has been reinstated.
Vincent Valenzuela was reinstated with a 40-hour suspension at a Civil Service Commission hearing, according to Lane Mandle, a city of Tucson spokeswoman.
Valenzuela was terminated in August, but in October the Pima County attorney's office declined to file charges against any of the employees involved in the case because it they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt anyone paid for sex.
In July, the Tucson Police Department fired the following five employees:
- Nathaniel Luttrell
- Oscar Ramos
- Daniel Santa-Cruz
- Martin Walker
- Enrique Wilkins
Tucson News Now did not name Valenzuela in early reports about the massage parlor probe, because he was still being investigated.
Jesus Maldonado and Mike McGuire resigned during the investigation.
In a police report, they basically admitted that they used the website backpage.com to arrange appointments for VIP massages.
Reports state they paid $150-$200 for these massages and that they had sex with the women several times.
