Massage parlor owner Shaoping Wen, 64, and her son, Xu Wang, 41, were charged with conspiracy to use interstate travel in aid of racketeering enterprises.
Wen is the owner of several massage parlors in New Mexico and Texas. Between June 2023 and February 2024, undercover law enforcement started to purchase massages at parlors owned by Wen. The Department of Justice cited at least ten times officers were offered sex with employed women at the parlors for an additional fee over the course of the operation.
Several parlors were located in New Mexico, with two in Carlsbad, two in Roswell and one in Clovis, in addition to multiple locations in West Texas. Court records said a tracking device on one of Wenโs vehicles helped police trace down the exact number and locations. Each location also had ads posted on certain websites offering sexual services.
Homeland Security Investigations went undercover at each New Mexico parlor. Court records said women in the parlors used translation apps on their phones to negotiate sexual services.
Court documents stated an undercover agent at the Clovis parlor, located in the 800 block of North Prince Street, saw a mattress on the floor and a โsmall kitchen areaโ in the building here it is presumed employees were living.
The women at the parlors were brought in by flying into the country to New York and California, from there to Dallas and then to Roswell. Court records said the women were taken straight from the airport to the massage parlors and not allowed out of the buildings.
Officials said Wen and Wang have been extradited to Lubbock where they will appear before a Federal Court judge.
