Club called Famous anyone been?

Ive seen advertising for Famoushttp://http://famousphuket.com/engine/gallery/event-gallery/, Roof Top Jungceylon Shopping Centre. Sounds like its further away from the rest of the nightlife in Patong. They have a see through ceiling looking up into swimming pool above.
Has anyone been? Is it shit? Are there good looking girls there? TIA

The place itself is not bad, never been to Famous but went to the club before the name change/ownership, it never picked up. While being a great club setup, they never managed to draw the crowds. I have been there and been the only farang amongst 20 girls, who got free drinks. The place itself could easily handle 1000 people.

That said, never been to Famous and they had a Penthouse event a few weeks ago.

Thanks Nicke, yeah sounds like an awesome set up for a club but if they are not drawing the people whats the point. 20 to 1 is always good, may have to give it a look if not otherwise preoccupied.

Had to go back to my TR to check but I did go there. From memory it was fairly early when I went & it wasn't that busy.

They want 300b cover but were giving out free entry & drink vouchers in front of Jungceylon so I grabbed a few. It's on the 3rd level sort of part of the whole JC complex. They have reasonable music mix, mostly farang vibe. I did notice what I am guessing were FL's orf reasonable quality but there also seemed to be a lot of unattached farang girls.

They have a pool & club area on the 4th floor but we didn't go up there but since no smoking inside the disco area they do have a nice outdoor courtyard area which was actually a good spot to sit & chat with out having to yell.

I've been there twice. It sucked both times big time. Very expensive and not much going on on either floor. Also loaded with Arabs trying to look cool and fat white chicks. It will die a quick death.

Why judge a place just by one visit? Clubs have a different atmosphere depending on the day, what's going on there, events etc so they can often change on a daily basis. two times is usually enough to get a good feel for a place, any more than that and you're just being a masochist =)

never been there but the whole idea of a night club hidden away in a big shopping mall was flawed from the start.

shame really that it was not on the beach road...maybe above Banana as it has the feel of a Miami club and would benefit from being in the right location....at least that way they would be able to have some guy on the door with a VIP line with the red roped off enterence instead they are forced to hand out flyer for free to enter

you see a lot of places going this way usually restaurants as well- great food and chefs and staff and restauarnt just in wrong location and no customers

i went there on a Wednesday on my last trip in February. very expansive. has a nice vibe, but not totally full. prices for drinks reasonable. the roof top has a pool where the dancers rotate to swim in, it has a glass bottom that people on the level below on the dance floor can see up through. kind of cool. overall a nice club. I went with a couple of thai female friends. i think it will have ahard time being successful, because it is so large and has such a high overhead for personnel cost and rent.

Still it sounds like a place to go and have a look at least as it sounds like a nice change from Bangla.....what time does it open and close.......would be nice to have an hour or so in there
