I would like to put in my two cents worth!
Last week I went in to Club Kamur for the frist time and I have to tell you It was great. The people are very freindly and the women are pretty!
This club has gotten a bad rap by some people. But they are very wrong. The only thing I can think of is that they are just plain cheap! The drink are not too much and the women great and NOT pushie! It was a great place to kick back and relax! I go to SJO 2 or 3 times per month! This is MY new night time hang out! Thanks again to Jose and ALL the pretty girls!

Like I stated in an earlier post.... I didn't have or see one problem with Kamur other than the girls being dead. Bar service was great, front door people excellent, and the girls were beautiful... Only don't give them valium before their shifts.

Perhaps our illustious leader,Admin 1,can answer a question for all of us.Is it possible for a person to have multiple memberships so as to post as different people to enhance their business? Ok, jokes aside, the place was pretty damn fun back when I went in Memorial Day... As a matter of fact, I went there TWICE during Memorial Day weekend.

The epitome of YMMV is Kamur, I guess, because upon my return there in 4th of July weekend, it really sucked.

Overall, however, I think all people should give it a chance... The truth holds that a bad and slow night at kamur can always be potentially better than your best night at an american strip club (for the right amount of money, of course...).

I still want to check out Kamur. You know, it occurs to me that energy flows both ways at a party. If you just sit on your rump and wait for the party to come to you, it probably won't. I wonder what would happen if a number of guys came in, loud and happy, buy a drink or two for the local guys present, deliberately circulate around the seated girls flirting and making chat. Couldn't hurt. :idea:

As far as multiple personalities on CRT are concerned, there is precedent, although whether or not anyone is using multiple identities to boost business is probably a stretch.

Let's all try Kamur. Those of us who haven't been there should see for ourselves, hopefully unaffected by everything written here. The VIP treatment is reportedly good, they've got women and booze... give it a shot, then report your experiences here. :idea:

Some interesting new comments here on an old subject. If Kamur has done anything right, it is to become the most talked about stripclub on this board with quite the balance of pro and con. The epitome of YMMV.

I just wanted to throw in here that on any given day and any given establishment including our CRT sponsors and discount providers, the consumer experience can swing wildly. Whether its issues at the Presidente, Zona Blue cat fights, or zombie chicas at Kamur...you will catch certain days where everything seems to be going wrong.

AFter living almost 7 years in Latin countries, I have interpreted this as a cultural phenomenon. Its not just CR, Panama, Mexico or elsewhere. The Latins in general do not tend to live for service...or put another way...unlike us, they dont live to work. They work to live. Therefore, if they dont feel like it one day while on the job, they will just "drop the ball" and not show much interest in their job or service. I have seen this in the hotels, stripclubs, restaurants and casinos. A very lax attitude towards their jobs. While it can be infuriating at times, to me it is part of the adventure and challenge...to find the right place at the right time to have maximum pleasure...that you know isnt automatic or a "given". Its part of "the hunt".

Given this, no one should "write off" any joints in our city of pleasure...and unsubstantiated beratings of establishments such as recently expressed about NY Bar by a new member should be taken with a grain of salt. It is the pursuit of the exception to the rule that makes the hunt interesting for most of us...whether that is a chica...or a fine dining experience. So, we shouldnt get too worked up about negative reports on various establishments as they tend to be run or controlled by locals who just have their own agendas, moods, and capacity levels. If we put all this in perspective, our demands will go down...and we will find ourselves having a better time, not getting worked up, and just moving on from a situation that will be totally different tomorrow for the next guy.

Just to add a small anecdote on this from last nights prowl in Panama City. I was on a late night casino tour of the Veneto and Fiesta Casinos, next door to each other. I ended the night at the Salsa Bar at the Fiesta casino where they have one of the largest collections of tequila...one of my drinking fetishes. The tequila I ordered was $6.50 a glass last week. Last night it was $3.50. Of course Ididnt ask any questions as to why...and had a couple extras on my perceived "discount". Now, they were ringing this in the cash register, but obviously they either had some major price corrections, or, they simply rang it up under a different brand than a week ago. As a consumer it is always challenging, and as a owner/manager of the joint, I would have a lot of concerns. But you see this most days if you get around.

In addition, they had 3 bartenders and a hot cocktail waitress behind the bar...with 2 of us customers sitting at the bar...always waiting for them to notice our glasses were empty. They were QUITE focused on one another, chatting together in a round circle, and THEN, got into a competition, including the girl, on throwing liquor bottles in the air,and trying to catch them over their back like the movie...ah...blank memory...with Tom CRuise as the pro bartender throwing bottles as he pours. A Classic. I finally had to ask for a helmet while sitting at the bar to protect myself from flying cups and bottles. It was actually quite humorous and entertaining...but at the same time...with all the heavy management casinos tend to have...I couldnt believe these guys were getting away with this potentially risky and expensive experiment. Ya probably had to be there to fully understand and get the illustration. But, I see this stuff constantly in these Latin countries that would never be allowed in USA. They just sense very little risk...and definitely dont fear for their jobs.

Very astute post as always, and I couldn't concur more. Even at ZB - where I usually get treated like royalty - last trip I went in there on an afternoon a few days after the wild Sexy Bitches event when for whatever reason, the chicas seemed completely oblivious to the presence of ANY potential customers. I finally went up to the front and asked Isabella if I could just go sit in the steam room by myself, which she graciously let me do. Fortunately, in subsequent visits things were back on track.

This, I might add, is why it's great to have girls around like Pamela at ZB or Kelly back when she was at Kamur, who through attitude and force of personality always bring some life to the party.

To anyone who was a patron of Kamur during the glory days of late 2004/ early 2005, it's obvious that things now ain't what they used to be. I attribute this solely to the uncertain ownership situation - but give Newman kudos for running a great operation back when his heart was still in it. The potential is still there with the facility, but fresh blood is definitely needed.
