colicky babies
I've heard that fennel works....Here's something I found quick with a google search:

With my son, he would get super fussy and inconsolable at around 5pm and wouldn't stop until 10-11pm. We would put him down in his crib for 5-10 minutes to let him let off steam (after we made sure all of his needs were met). Then I would go in and offer him warm milk (I pump) or warm water and he usually calmed down enough to have some for a while. If he started up again then I put him down again for another 5-10 minutes. Eventually he would get tired and go to sleep.
He started that behavior at around 5 weeks so I really don't know if it's true colic. Anyway, it only lasted about 4 weeks. But that's all we did. Let him let off steam and learn to comfort himself....after that period of time he started sleeping through the night and I also helped him find his fist so he could self comfort.
Letting him cry for ten minutes was horrible for me at first. I felt much better to let him cry in my arms, but I actually think we did a wise move to let him learn to comfort himself for these brief periods of time. Now he is 3 1/2 months and he rarely cries for more than ten minutes before quieting himself. He sleeps at least 8 hours and he is starting to move into the 12 hour sleeping cycle....hip hip hooray!!
Let us know how it all works out!
