Complementart therapy degree?

Has anyone here either done or is doing the Complementary Therapy degree at uni??
I am interested in it and I have never been to uni before and at the grand old age of 42 I would be a mature student, and was wondering if someone could reccomend it?, or shed some light on the course.
I would be most grateful for any information.

Wow, I'm not sure many people have already done degrees in it as it's a fairly new topic as far as Universities go.

i'm a grand old student mydelf at 44 and i've just started (last yr) a part-time degree in complementary medicine and health sciences.
I have already begun studying reflexology, and next yr intend to star homeopathy.
I can't recommend the course enough but there are a few unis that do them. perhaps a search under comp med degrees in the uk may help?

I have decided that I am definately doing the complementary degree course full time for 3 years.
I am in limbo land and need a challenge and a bit more knowledge would be nice as well!!!
I am really looking forward to it, and am going to put my heart and soul into it.
I know its gonna be hard , especially with 2 kids but if I dont try I will never know.

Hi, University of Westminster does it in London, I started their Herbal Medicine Degree and I wish I had done the Comp Therapies one instead as that way you get to work with many types of therapies and not just one. It is a great course as some of my friends did it - another similar one to do which is equally great is the Naturopathy Degree. The oldest student on my herbal degree was in her late 60's so you will be a spring chicken in comparison age wise ) Have fun and good luck! Kate

Go for it!! I've done a complete IT and Computing degree with the OU (part time over 5 years) - starting roughly the age you are now. It's a great sense of achievement when you get to the end!!

I did a Comp therapies (Reflexology) degree at Napier Uni in Edinburgh (graduated in July). It was absolutely excellent! Before that I started the one in Westminster (which was a great course too but London living didn't agree with me).

There were many people on my course in their 30s, 40s and 50s - and i feel that they got more from the course than some of the younger ones as they were more committed to doing their very best.
