confused newbie needs advice

Hi has anyone got ant portable chair recommendations - and are there any differences between FHT and Embody? Thanks for your time and patience

I like the "film director" type wooden fold up chair. Cheap, portable, strong and it is possible to work through the canvas back if necessary. I brought one in Tesco's several years ago half price at £7.50!

As for FHT and Embody, they both have pros and cons. I'm a member of CThA/Embody by default, as I was a member of the Guild of Complementary Practitioners (GCP) which was then sold to ITEC Professionals, and now called CThA and BThA using Embody as a brand name.

One thing that FHT is better at than CThA/Embody is their magazine. Embody's is rubbish. For me as a teacher/practitioner I prefer Embody's insurance policy.

Ask both organisations to send a info pack and see what benefits you.

Hi Mcmantra,

I use a fold up chair I bought in Lidl for around 10 euro. It easily fits into the back of the car. The back of the chair is low so easy access to the upper back etc for IHM. I am sorry, I cannot comment on FHT but do have insurance through Embody and found them the best for me.

With regard to the Embody magazine in Reiki Pixie's post, I can't comment either as I don't get the FHT one, not being a member so can't compare.

Hi ya again

A friend of mine is a FHT member and I looked at their magazine, it was far far far far far better than Embody's. I'm also a member of the Association of Reflexologists and their mag is good as well. I also subscribe to the "Positive Health" mag and that is excellent!

Embody's "Professional" mag is all gloss and very little substance. You get the occasional good article, occasionally.

If you read through the thread you should find enough info to make an informed decision. Failing that, send for both Info Packs and see which you like best.
