Hi. Can anyone help me with contraindication issues?
I started advertising my Indian Head Massage a couple of weeks ago (this is my first therapy) and have had 6 clients people asking for massage. The first person to contact me had diabetes though, so I said I couldn't do it without medical permission They acted as if I was mad and asked loads of questions about why I couldn't do it (this was over the phone at the time took the booking). I then had someone with very low blood pressure, and then last night I had another person with diabetes. The lady last night had had other complementary therapies, including IHM, so obviously other therapists are getting medical permission. As she was a nurse and her husband was present I decided to go ahead, but today I feel like I shouldn't have done it. That's 3 out of 6 people who have had something that requires medical permission. Am I really meant to be turning all these people away until I have a doctor's note? I've searched the Internet and can only find information on how massage benefits diabetes, and a doctor friend of mine can't see any reason for not doing a head massage. I'm confused!
