Let me get this straight.

The Canadian government obtained a court order to have him removed from the country several years ago. But will not be deported as long as the death sentence sticks.

Did the Government not know of this law before they obtained the court order?.

All Bangla Desh has to do is give Canada an assurance that is credible and valid that they will not execute this guy and we send him back. The Canadian judicial system does not condone capital punishment. Our government is just standing up for our way of doing things. I have no problem with this.

The flaws in your statement are:
1) It has nothing to do with us, it is between a citizen of another country, and HIS country. He's simply hiding out here
2) He isn't or doesn't live by our way of life, so he shouldn't be allowed safe haven here.
3) Who are we to judge how another country punishes it's criminals?

Using the same argument, if Osama Bin Laden hid here would you condone protecting him too?

We have laws on our books that make it a criminal offence to harbour a criminal. Yet why are we allowing it? Oh, it's the GOVERNMENT breaking the law that's why....

I tell you one thing: if we WERE harbouring Bin Laden? I bet after exhausting all "official" requests for extradition I bet we'd get a visit by a special forces team to nab him.......which I'm surprised the bangladesh government hasn't done by now...probably logistical reasons.....
