Your point 5 is a little bit inaccurate there is two metrics in use 1) Positivity (Number of positive cases/Number of people tested) and 2) Number of positive cases. If more people are tested yes the number of positive cases will increase but the positivity rate should decline as there should be a higher number of negative test cases. The bigger issue is that the closures and restrictions are not based on the data. For example gyms only accounted for 3% of the cases prior to the closures and as a result their closure has not impacted the number of people getting COVID. The bigger issue is that people with COVID are not isolating and are going out in public.

covid kills less than 1% of those it infects. If the population is 7 billion, and we didn't do anything to fix covid, we would have 6.93 billion people left. That is not even a dent in the human population. But wait, life goes on. There are far more births than deaths every day. So the population would remain unchanged. People die everyday from the flu, and the population hasn't changed and only gone up.

3. Nope. My parents just had a test were told they did not have to self Isolate but they advised them to limit contact with others. There is no blanket rule here public health will inform you.

5. That's just stupid. Tests don't make you sick the more people tested does not effect the infection rate. It may detect more people that are sick that wouldn't have known before but that is a good thing. It helps them to avoid spreading it more.

#7. I can call my parents who are in their 80's anytime, I see no reason to visit during this time. It will not slow the spread, how has it worked so far.
