Customer Appreciation Day - looking for ideas

Sorry if this has been brought up before, I did a couple of searches but didn't find anything relevant.

My clinic has slated an upcoming Saturday for "Customer Appreciation Day," about 4 hours long. I am planning on offering free sample reflexology sessions (ears and hands), and the other practitioners will be offering something similar: free Alexander Technique demonstrations, chat with the Hypnotherapist, etc...

I would love to hear what others have done for a customer appreciation event and how it went. Our Open House was very successful and some of us are still receiving calls from attendees, so I'm hoping we'll have a semi-full house again with this one.

We have a member appreciation day every year. We do the usual free chair massage. But last time we threw an open house we got out some of our spa stuff. We did free paraffin dips and sea salt scrubs on the hands. Everyone loved it.

I think we also have a pancake breakfast in the morning of the appreciation day. Everyone loves free food!

I did chair massage for the health food store last March... as a customer appreciation day type thing.
Didn't really draw in any regular ongoing clients (chair or table) though several people enjoyed the free samples of chair massage. :
Somehow those giving massage away free things never work for me.

Same here, when we did the free spa demos not one person booked an appointment. Although, I had a slow day a while back and got out the chair to fill some time and ended up with 2 new clients. One of which has "gently" told me he's done for a while and the other talks me up at home I hear! LOL

But for an appreciation day.....it's all good!

Dragonflies, since you'll be doing free demos maybe you could print up little flyers for people to take home with some things they could do themselves. I'm not at all familiar with reflexology, sorry. But at my work everyone loves it when I show them how to relieve headaches and sinus pressure. Maybe print something up with that kind of info and include a little coupon for somuch% off a treatment?

I went on Ebay and bought a gross (144 pieces) of world music CDs which regularly retailed for $16.99. I won the auction for $75.00 (including shipping), which makes the CDs 52¢ each. I left the $16.99 price eforum.xxxs on (so the client feels like they are getting something of value), and made labels on the computer that have all my info and stuck on the back of the CD. The music is great, BTW. I was even able to sample the album at Amazon.com. There are many similar deals on CDs, from classical to christian to new age. This happened to be a very large lot, for a great price.
