I have my own business, and I would never raise the price of my goods and services unless there was a shortage of resources, either time, people, raw materials, or products. As a business owner raising your prices is a risky proposition because you would have to have a very good read on the market to confidently and boldly ask for more money and risking that your competitors don't follow suit. You could be alienating regular clients and losing to a competitor that charges less.
