Does anyone know about PrEP? I stumbled upon it looking at an SW's website, where she says she takes the drug on a daily basis. Apparently it is 99% effective against HIV transmission. It sounds like a good idea for SWs that provide BBFS.

It is a good idea for SW that provide BBFS but there is a risk of liver damage from prolonged usage so I would not take it on a daily basis over a number of years.

Very common with gay SW, less common with female SW especially asian female SW.

Almost unknown in the Asian massage world. Somewhat used in the Asian SW world as is noted. The gay SW and gay civilian community uses it widely.

The majority of female sex workers use condoms/are selective when offering BBFS (they don't offer it to every client) so they don't need PreP.

The girls who offer BBFS on a regular basis either offer it as an upcharge and use price as a screening factor or are in need of cash that they don't care about the risk.

For Asian SW at the agencies in Toronto who offer it as a service it is more about culture as in Korea and Japan BBFS is more common among SW's as HIV transmission is viewed as more of a gay/drug use/foreigner issue and as such they are more comfortable offering it when they come here but tend to see Asian clients only as they are viewed to be cleaner and more likely to be Drug and Disease free.
