Mayor Miller did his monthly phone-in show tonight on CP24. Before they started taking calls, he was asked about the advertising on the recycling/garbage cans. It was more hypocrisy, just like the police, claiming they'd like to get rid of it but can't because it's a deal made by council before he was mayor. He said something similar about the situation regarding MP licensing.

The first caller was a female MP owner saying MPs should be able to advertise like any other business licensed by the city.

It is disappointing that this round of media hysteria is comming from sources such as City & The Star. I am not surprised when it comes from Right Wing outlets, like The Sun's original crusade against SC's in the 90's, and Baton / Rogers recurring fixation on Adult Entertainment. That's what makes this disturbing. Does City think late night massage parlours are reducing the ratings for their soft-core porn reruns?

Following that little bullshit on City, T.V they start talking about a red zone district on queen St, well on queen st, they have a lingerie shop that has almost naked models trying to bring in more buisness for this lingerie so they start asking walkerby's what they think and everyone love's it,
than the councillor comes on to say that in five years that that operation has been there no one has complained, well my opinion is that they are all fu!@#$%^&ing hypocrites!!, the media makes a huge stink about seeing a normal looking man walking in or out of a massage parlour, totally and completly minding his own buisness, and we totally get shit on. than we see naked models on queen st lurring customers in and thats ok?

Agreed. The tone of both The Star's and CITY-TV's series have been strangely puritanical, and seem like something from a few decades ago. On Wednesday CITY reported that the "sleazy" AC ad had been removed from the garbage bin.

Have you noticed The Sun's relative silence on this issue recently? They would usually love this kind of sensational story involving something to do with sex, and their columnists and editorials have always been completely against the idea of any liberalizing of prostitution laws, but I suppose they know their large ad section for MPs and escorts would really make them look hypocritical.

BTW - What happened to the CITY-TV "serial"? Did it end after two days?
