mate "House" came to force in the 80's.....hardly out of Rob's (or mine even) era....but maybe a bit too early for you....:mdr:

loads of the music being played in clubs today include remixes of trax the masters like Morales made way back when they paved the way (not just in house but in all genres)...makes me laugh when I have conversations with young tykes about trax they love...and blows them away when i tell then it is a mix of several late 80's early 90's trax.....they just don't believe me

its odd because i played house and trance in the 90's and everything is being rehashed from then and being destroyed! all my favourites ruined!!!!!!

99% of music comes from old stuff one way or another. the amen break made way for hardcore, techno, house, drum and bass, breakbeat and even the futurama theme tune!

Yup, House became prominent in 80's Chicago. I'm only 21, but I have a good understanding of the roots of the music I play. DJ's such as Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy (RIP) were the pioneers of the genre. If you want to have a good understanding of House, and even before that (Disco, Northern Soul, Jazz) read the book "Last Night A DJ Saved My Life".
