Hi gang! I am looking for some experience and perspective here. I just opened a day spa, we have 3 treatment rooms and 6 massage therapists on call. I am struggling a bit with how to cycle them through and who to book when. I am interested in the perspective of others booking multiple therapists, like maybe Jason, R&R and whoever else! Anyone's opinion is welcome.
Right now I am assigning each therapist a number, each day. Like today #1 is Sally, #1 is John, #3 is Patti, #4 is Joan. The person is who is #1 gets booked first all day (unless someone requests another therapist, another gender, or a treatment Sally can't perform) until she's full. Then #2 gets booked, and so on. This way, each day the therapist knows how likely they are to get booked. They did this at another spa I worked at and from my end (the therapist) it always seemed to work well.
Now that I look at it from the manager's perspective, it's more difficult than it seems. I can go into details with the issues we've been having, but they might make your eyes glaze over, so I'll wait for someone to request that. Basically I'm wondering if anyone uses this system, if there are any ways to improve this system, or if there are other systems out there that I might utilize.
Thanks!
Shiva
