DEA Rewards by Thai Police

Last night there was more police than ever on Bangla around 10 pm. Also saw high authorities, video cameras and a lots of photos were taken of them.

What they did? Promoted DEA Rewards, pens, matches, beer holders, stickers with photos of various wanted people.

So why the hell do they promote a US agency's list of wanted people? Do they get commission if they arrest someone in Thailand?

I am sure it was fun for the tourists tho, something different happening.

Swedish police had to wire 20k to BKK police to go to Kho Tao and pick up a guy that was wanted in Sweden. Guess that is common practise with police here, "make it worth my while and I´ll go".

Isn't this the same thing they been doing in Bangkok for some time now (about one or two months).
They give mugs and cupholders that have photos of wanted crimals tought to be hiding in Asia (Thailand)..

In November sitting in Soi 6, my DEA beer holder had a picture of "Whitey" Bulger. A long sought after criminal from back home. A little taste of home while on Holiday!
