Deciding on a server for a newbie (WoW)?

Is it better for me to begin on a low, medium, or high server? I chose PvP because I like a challenge, but I want to be part of a friendly community with a good economy. Suggestions?

Go to a new players PvP server.

You don't want to be on a low pop or a high pop server, those two extremes will not be fun to play on.

Low pop = ghost towns with hardly any activity or players to group with.
High pop = Sometimes you will be forced into a waiting queue to join the server because it's full (usually at prime time). There will be so many players about that questing is difficult and on a PvP-high pop server you can expect to be ganked every ten seconds.

I'd go medium population, to get away from those two polar extremes.

Go for a low pop, something close to your time zone. Starting out on pvp might be a pain, it sounds fun but when you're getting killed by lvl 80s every 5 minutes it can get frustrating while trying to lvl. You might want to consider a pve server just to get you started.
