Hi Guys,
After my last visit to see a registrar about my back and leg pain I was led to belive that the cause of my pain was a disc prolapse L5 | S1 and I was told I would be going for a discectomy soon. All of this I was told by a registrar.
However I have recently received a letter from the consultant sergeon who will be carring out my operation, and the diagnosis within this letter contradicts what I have been told previously.
At the top of my letter reads (underlined) "Operation date for Decompression for central spinal stenosis". This is all new to me!
Has any of you guys had the operation described above? I'd like to hear your experiences, recovery times, did you have to have a fusion or anything else I might need to know.
Any personal experiences would be informative to me.
Thanks
