I have a new client coming in in a couple of weeks - dental hygienist, uses bodywork regularly & for a long time, keeps forearms/hands in shape this way, low back "issues" longstanding, dx of shoulder bursitis (2 former work-comp claims tx w/massage, none current). When she does have shoulder pain, it's usually anterior.
I don't doubt the bursitis dx -- but there's obviously no way that the bursitis is what responded to the massage. I'm thinking that the positions a hygienist would be in a lot of the time, maybe there's some overuse of the anterior delt and upper pec major, from reaching forward and around into mouths?
Anyone have hygienist clients or similar? Anything I'm forgetting? I'm probably letting the bursitis dx throw me and should just go w/my gut and the test results, but I'd like to chat about this beforehand as she gave so much detail on the phone and is shopping for a new MT.
