Clemens refutes perjury indictment on Twitter

A day after being charged with perjury, Roger Clemens issued a statement through his Twitter feed denying that he lied or doped.
“I never took HGH or Steroids. And I did not lie to Congress,” it reads. “I look forward to challenging the Governments accusations, and hope people will keep an open mind until trial. I appreciate all the support I have been getting. I am happy to finally have my day in court.”

does it really matter?? he played in an era when they all did it, and im sure a lot still do. Im sure it was a widespread thing and all these hypocrites that are slamming all the players now turned the other way then. Now some people want to make a name for themselves at others expense, just leave it alone. Athletes do what they need to do, they only hurt themselves in the end with health issues. Im sure a majority of people dont really care and would rather see dollars spent on more important things than finding out whether or not Roger Clemons did steroids. Besides is baseball even a real sport anymore Hockey rules!!

Brings up the subject that athletes kill their bodies by taken drugs. No one complains about the fat coaches with blocked arteries and due for heart attacks. Or smokers that damage their lungs, etc...

It all has to do if the Government can tax you or not.

He's lying through his fucking teeth. He knows it, his teammates know it, MLB knows it and the US govt knows it.

If he had fessed up like his buddy Pettitte all this wouldve blown over already, instead he keeps denying which the US govt hates, and they will make an example out of you if you lie repeatedly (see Canseco who served jailtime)

Canseco never served time for lying with regards to PED use.

He fessed up and outed everybody he could think of.

Petite I have no use for. It's okay to admit to your own use but outing Clemens is just sheer cowardice and makes him a rat in my books.

Even though I'm from NY and am as big a Yankee fan as anyone I really never cared for Clemens but having said this I hope he beats this just to stop this witch hunt and so we can just move past the steroid era.
