i wanna take the diving licens wen am on my trip to phuket i was thinking on taking it on the phi phi island. has annywon take it and can tell aboud it . how long it take to do it
and how much it cost

1 1 day*discover dive -2 dives = the same you did before up at 8 back at about 430 - 4500 baht

2*2 day padi scuba diver = 12 meters its half the course of open water 1 day academics & pool 1 day* 2 dives up 8 back 4 30 - 9500* include book and certification

3*3 day open water diver-= full dive license to 18 meters= *1 day academics & pool*2 day 2 dives up 8 back 4 30 - 14500 include book and certification

Do a licens in muff diving before making your video, might turn out better.

just go for a PADI open water course if you want to be licensed to dive for future occasions.

is it often you get to se sharks on patong ore phi phi

leopard sharks can be seen on several of the dives....and there are some banana sharks at the back by the toilets on the K!ng Cruiser Wreck (however these are at 30m so unlikely you will get to see them)

very very occasionally a whale shark comes through the bay

Banana sharks? I haven't seen one of these fellows in more than 4 years of diving around Phuket.

On PhiPhi we see Black Tip Reef Sharks also quite reguarly. Bamboo Sharks can also bee seen on quite a few dive sites.

For your course, you can also save you some time and do the theory part at home using PADI elearing. Just google for it. Unfortuneately I am not allowed to post any links here.

never been to the rudder area of the K!ng Cruiser wreck then?.........

As well as the wreck there is lots of coral growth and an abundance of fish. Soft corals can be found growing along the sides and top of the wreck. Schools of bigeye trevally are often spotted circling above the captain's cabin. Large schools of yellow snapper hang around the entrances to the car deck and along the remains of the upper deck, plus lionfish[disambiguation needed] can be seen dotted around the wreck. There are also occasional encounters with leopard sharks and bamboo sharks, barracuda and turtles.

Hello guys, any idea how much a PADI advance open water course costs? any recommended dive centers around patong?

ok so to clear a few things up there is a 2 day 12m course, a 2 day 18m course and a 3 day 30m open water course is that right?? and if you want can you do just the 30m course or do you have to do the 12m or 18m course first?

You have to get the Open Water Diver license (down to 18m) in which you will learn all the basic principles of diving theoretically and in practice (5 pool dives and 5 sea dives) before you can take the Advanced Open Water Diver course (down to 30m) which is 5 specialty dives one of which is the 'deep dive' specialty allowing you to dive down to a dept of 30m.

12m is max for a "Try Dive" no certification just a scuba experience with an instructor "on your back"

if you do not have PADI open water now its best to do it first (but you can do Advanced concurrently with OW)..build up a few more dives and then do Advanced Course later (can be done in a day if you have a willing instructor on a live-aboard and study/do the test the night before the practical stuff).....Advanced gets you to the 30m level

core subjects/dives for Advanced are Deep Dive (30m) and Navigation...then there are 3 electives...I'd suggest Peak Buoyancy as one of these as it will make you a better general diver more than anything else
